Robert Jones | Managing Director

Bluefire founder Robert Jones has spent more than 25 years focused on growth and turnaround in mid-market tech companies in general management with businesses in North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific. As Managing Director at Truphone, led accelerated business growth in Europe, bringing his experience from his work with industry leaders including Acision, Cisco and Nortel. During his tenure at Truphone, the company was also recognised with several industry awards.

Robert has also worked as an entrepreneur helping privately held technology businesses succeed with trade sale exits, securing funding, international expansion and performing due diligence on acquisitions.  Robert also serves as a mentor to Scale Up Company CEOs for SVC2UK and regularly facilitates tech company CEO development sessions on commercial topics including B2B sales, international expansion and restructuring.

Robert holds an Honours BSc in electrical engineering from the University of Alberta as well as a mini MBA in mobile marketing from New Jersey’s Rutgers University.

David Ewen | Associate

David brings some 30 years’ experience as a pricing expert and data analyst working with leading international companies in the telecoms sector including Vodafone, Three and T-Mobile as well as with innovative MVNOs such as Lebara.

David’s specialism is translating raw data into understandable, actionable insights to guide commercial decisions on pricing and extracting the maximum value from the customer base. He led Vodafone’s wholesale pricing strategy and contributed to the successful launch of Apple devices as products in the company’s key European markets. At Lebara he developed an analytics tools to gain detailed insights on customer behaviours that informed pricing strategies. David is also a talented musician and completed the Performer’s Course in bassoon and piano from the world-leading Royal Academy of Music.

Greg Gerard | Associate

Greg has spent more than 25 years driving operational excellence and his expertise ranges from customer relationship management in high-growth technology businesses to IT and systems management and support, as well as logistics expertise and service delivery for mobile operators.

His skills are built on more than 25 years in the TMT sector, working with international leaders such as Truphone, Tellabs, Huawei and Nortel. His experience spans for operational leadership, supporting bids, leading the delivery of customer support and establishing international brands in new markets. Greg is a leader in creating results-driven operations teams in B2B, B2C, financial services, banking and telecoms businesses.

He holds a BA in Economics and an honours BSc in physics from the University of Waterloo, the PRINCE2 certification and is an IASSC Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (ICBB) professional.

Kate Bevan | Associate

Kate has spent nearly 30 years in national media in the UK, where she is recognised as a leading communicator and influencer in technology.

Kate writes regularly for the Financial Times, and appears on national and international TV and radio programmes as a commentator on technology. She also works with major technology clients including Microsoft, WD, Intel and Sagepay to create compelling, thoughtful content and analysis, and brings her sharp analytical eye and writing and presentation skills. Kate focuses on data protection and regulation, privacy, mobile technology, social media and payments, and writes, speaks and offer insights on a range of technologies.

Kate holds a BA honours degree in English and Media studies from the University of Southampton.

Amy Voller | Associate

Based in Australia, Amy has spent 15 years building and shaping brands in new markets through innovation, strategic and operational brand leadership and business development, and she has consulted for both established businesses and start-ups. Her expertise ranges from commercial and managing change to driving revenue and P&L achievement in Germany and in the UK.

Amy has worked as brand director with Britax Child Safety, where she improved brand perception, built an EMEA marketing and communications organisation and maximised ROI for the brand, and she has also held senior roles at Royal Bank of Scotland and British Telecom, where she developed and executed strategies, refocused efforts to prioritise investment and led efforts to establish BT in the mobile market.

Amy speaks fluent French as she holds a BA in French language, literature and history from La Trobe University as well as a postgraduate diploma of management and a master’s in marketing from the University of Melbourne’s Business School.

Karinna Neumann | Associate

Toronto-based Karinna has spent nearly 25 years expanding businesses, creating value and developing new markets thanks to her experience of devising and implementing business to operational-level strategies.

Karinna has worked with leading global B2B brands including Nymity, where she was head of global marketing and strategy at Nymity. Her achievements here include designing and driving global business and product strategies, increasing brand equity and leading its digital transformation. Karinna built her senior experience at BASF, where she developed and created new markets, led value based management initiatives, turned around businesses to boost profitability and won awards for her customer-centric efforts in customer service and operations.

Karinna holds an honours BA with an International Trade Specialization from University of Waterloo as well as an MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University and she is a Certified Information Privacy Professional and Manager (CIPP/E and CIPM).
